Puget Sound Occupational Skills Center

Prepare for Further Education and a Great Career!

Work with regional fire service professionals to gain the physical, academic and mental skills used by fire fighters.  Learn skills according to national Fire Fighter I Standards:

  • Fire Behavior
  • Hose and Ladder techniques
  • Safety
  • Self-contained breathing apparatus and Passport accountability
  • Practice onsite in our fully-operational fire engine
  • Work directly with local fire departments through activities such as mass casualty incident drills and training exercises
  • Develop life-long emergency response skills and teamwork
  • Continue your training after high school to become a professional fire fighter
  • Become affiliated with local Fire Explorer Posts (like SeaTac Explorer Post 24)
  • Possible sponsorship to an Emergency Medical Technician class (EMT)
  • Earn high school credit in English and PE
  • Earn college credits through Tech Prep- FREE - saving both money and time!
